Responsibilities: Under the general supervision of the
Chief of Mission, and under the direct supervision of the IOM Head of Public
Information Unit, the Public Information Intern will be based in Kyiv and work
for the effective coordination and publicity of IOM’s activities in close
cooperation with all IOM Ukraine staff. This position requires a 20-hour
commitment per week.
Public Information Intern
Assist in the production of IOM regional newsletter.
Update of information on the IOM in Ukraine Mission website.
Contribute in the creation, publication and distribution of
promotional materials for the Mission.
Assist in implementing the Mission information campaigns.
Research relevant migration news.
Maintain and up-date the Mission monthly calendar of events.
Maintain and up-date the Mission Projects’ Compendium and
Plan of Publications.
Maintain IOM in Ukraine library.
9. Non-scheduled translation and interpretation
as needed.
10. Other duties as may be assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelors or non-complete degree in communications,
international affairs, or an applicable discipline;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Sound knowledge in computer applications, including
non-technical website updating;
- Excellent writing skills in English and Ukrainian
language;
- Mature judgment combined with a proactive, energetic
approach to problem solving;
- Ability
to work with a wide cross-section of partners: Government, NGO’s, academic
institutions, media and international donors;
