Description of duties:
As part of a Country Office team, the incumbent provides a variety of tasks
in support of the functioning of the TB Programme/WHO Country Office:
Drives office vehicles for the transport of Programme Manager/Head of Country
Office and other authorised personnel for performing official duties with due
regard to time schedules. Driving of office vehicles in country or other
countries when required. Apply knowledge of driving regulations, safety
requirements, traffic and conditions and most desirable routes to minimize
travel time. Assist passengers in entering or leaving the office vehicle; load
and unload baggage, parcels, documents, goods or supplies.
Meets official personnel at the airport when necessary and facilitates
immigration and customs formalities as required.
Delivers and collects mail, documents and other items when required. Makes
minor purchases and collects urgently required goods from local suppliers on
demand. Collects goods from customs with due regard to routine customs
regulations and formalities; makes or collects payment for goods if
required.
Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned office vehicle,
checks oils, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc., performs minor repairs and
arranges for other repairs and ensures that the office vehicle is kept
clean.
Takes suitable precautions for the security of the office vehicle and its
contents when left unattended. Ensures that the office vehicle is properly kept
(in the garage or on the secured cark park) during non-working hours.
Logs official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing,
etc.
Ensures that all rules, regulations and local requirements are adhered to in
the event of involvement in an accident.
Performs other related duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Essential:
Equivalent to primary education. Driver's licence. Good knowledge of the
local language.
Skills:

4) Ensuring the effective use of resources
Driver's licence, knowledge of driving rules and regulations and chauffeur
courtesies, skills in minor vehicle repair, initiative and discretion.
Experience:

Four years' work experience as a driver; safe driving record.

READ: To read and understand the essential meaning of a wide variety of
written material including WHO guidelines, manuals and instructions
WRITE: To be able to prepare internal notes and complete necessary forms.
SPEAK: To communicate with official visitors to the country.
RUSSIAN

including official guidelines, manuals and instructions
WRITE: To be able to complete log sheets and official documents/receipts when
transporting personnel and visitors.
SPEAK: To communicate with local personnel, national counterparts and

Additional Information:
This is a LOCAL vacancy and as such, only qualified applicants residing
