United Nations Development Program Office is seeking highly qualified professional to fill in position of Agricultural Policy Research Consultant

Post title: Agricultural Policy Research Consultant (PRC)

Duration of employment: 8 month

Full time.

Duty station: Kiev, Ukraine

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Carry out targeted research in the field of Agriculture and Agro-Industrial Growth.
• Support staff and managers within Ministry of Economy and other State institutions responsible for completion of the Economic and Social Development Program and Economic Strategy Planning Documents.
• Develop links to policy-oriented NGOs, involving them into the policy analysis process.
• Develop and maintain links to other technical assistance activities in the country in the field of economic policy formulation.
• Assist Project Team in preparing meeting of the ESDP Sector Advisory Panels.
• Prepare research studies, methodological recommendations, briefing notes on issues related to the Agriculture and Agro-Industrial Growth Policy
• Submit on a monthly basis to the Project Manager and National Economic Adviser substantive progress reports.
• The Policy Research Consultant will work under supervision of Project Manager and National Economic Adviser to the Project.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Minimum diploma in economics or related field, kandidat degree preferred
• Minimum of five years work on issues related to Ukrainian Agriculture and Agro-Industrial Growth sector, economic reform
• Excellent analytical skills
• Proven ability to prepare research studies, methodological recommendations, briefing notes on issues related to the Ukrainian Agriculture and Agro-Industrial Growth sector (policy)
• Experience of work in Ukrainian government is an asset
• Excellent drafting skills in Ukrainian
• Knowledge of standard PC software, desktop publishing experience
• Knowledge of English is an asset
