Position: Training and Capacity Building Expert
Duty Station: Kyiv
Full time
Functions and responsibilities:
The Training and Capacity
Building Expert will lead the Programme in addressing issues of preparation and
coordination training/capacity building plan, provide organizational set-up for
training; design training programmes, organize all logistics for the Project
Study Tours and other Project related travel. Specifically, s/he will:

Facilitate and manage training and capacity building
related activities from substantive, administrative and financial points of
view, contribute to strategic planning;

Align the programme activities with the National
programmes/strategies and contribute to the capacity building of the national
counterpart institutions;
-
Prepare the detailed plan of actions and budget
estimate for workshops, seminars, study tours, etc;
-
Prepare training/ capacity building plan, prepare the
organizational set-up for training on gender issues;
-
Design appropriate training programmes as envisaged
by the project document to ensure the delivery of the project’s outputs;
-
Be responsible for planning, managing and
implementing training plans and initiatives of the project;
-
Support experts involved by the Project in the
development of methodological materials and training packages;
-
Be responsible for all logistics for Project Study
Tours and other Project related travel;
-
Coordinate the work of the external trainers;
-
Be responsible for the process of knowledge sharing
in the subject area and participate actively in regional and global networks
of UNDP/Sida;
-
Prepare monthly, quarterly, mid-year and annual
reports, work plans and budget forecasts for the related components, prepare
budget revisions if required;

Develop, document and implement the details of Equal
Opportunity Program (hereinafter referred to as “EOP”) strategy as well as
prepare policy papers for aspects of this strategy within his/her area of
responsibility;

Extract and document practical guidelines and lessons
learned from EOP’s interventions for continuously improving EOP’s
interventions within his/her area of responsibility as well as facilitating
its application within the context of other activities and programmes of UDP
in Ukraine and elsewhere;

Draft all other documents relevant to the respective
components as may be required;
-
Monitor progress of EOP’s activities within his/her
area of responsibility and regularly report to the Project Manager;

Perform other duties as
required and requested within the framework of his/her
responsibilities.
7. Experience and
Qualifications:
-
University degree in social sciences, public
administration or related fields;
-
At least five years of experience in institutional
development, training and capacity building;
-
Experience in all aspects of training activities;
-
Experience in training civil servants and conducting
capacity building of governmental organisations;
-
Experience in conducting of training activities
related to human rights protection;
-
Experience of working in an international or
multi-cultural environment is an advantage;
-
Good reporting skills and proven ability in working
with both public sector and civil society;
-
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, good
facilitation and communication skills;
-
Good presentation skills, both oral and written;
-
Working knowledge of English;
-
Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian;
-
PC user
skills.
