Post Title: Programme Assistant to the Support Team

Duration of employment: 1 year

Duty Station: Kyiv, Ukraine

Duties and responsibilities:

The Programme Assistant to the Support Team will employed by UNDP and will be responsible for:

  • Assist in the preparation of policy papers and agenda for regular meetings and follow-up activities for the State AIDS Commission;
  • Participate in data collection, analysis and maintenance of projects related data base;
  • Participate in project activities preparation, implementation and follow up,
  • Maintain project finance related information.
  • Keep updated project inventory and assures that UNDP regulations on the equipment use, storage and proper maintenance are adhered. Assures that the project equipment transfer/disposal is being done under UNDP rules.
  • Facilitate project audit, monitoring, evaluation, field visits, missions of the experts, assures travel arrangements for the project staff. Participate in preparation on project TPRs/APRs.
  • Prepare project related correspondence; maintain contacts with governmental and non-governmental institutions, local authorities, NGOs, academia, etc.
  • Devise a system for effective communication between relevant parties;
  • Translate documents from Ukrainian to English and English to Ukrainian;
  • Provide logistic support for Leadership development component;
  • Perform other functions/tasks when required.

Qualifications for the post:

  • Ukrainian citizen with upwards of a Master’s degree in a relevant field (such as English, public relations/communication, organizational behavior, economics);
  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in the area of operational support, personnel management, procurement, finance preferably in the international environment;
  • Knowledge of the HIV/AIDS situation in Ukraine;
  • Excellent language skills with an ability to translate texts from three languages (English, Russian and Ukrainian) with occasional interpretation in meetings;
  • Experience with technical assistance projects is an asset;
  • Ability to work in team, under continuous pressure and meet deadlines;
  • Energetic optimistic approach to all possible problems;
  • Knowledge of and complete comfort with computer applications/communication is essential (including organization of public presentations on PowerPoint).
