Duty Station: Kyiv, Ukraine

Duties and responsibilities:

  • The Expert on Care will be employed by UNDP and will be responsible for:
  • Advise on matters related to care and treatment of people living with HIV/AIDS;
  • Facilitate regular assessment of the current national and local care activities;
  • Assist in the implementation of the Global Fund proposal component regarding care;
  • Provide technical support to the State AIDS Commission for strategic planning and implementation of the components on care in the National Programme on HIV/AIDS;
  • Produce reports for submission to the State AIDS Commission, GFATM and the UN Theme Group on HIV/AIDS;
  • Provide case study reports and best practices;
  • Liaise with the WHO to support implementation of the Action Plan for the Accelerated Access to Care Initiative;
  • Assure smooth operational running of the project by means of following established operational rules and procedures;
  • Participate in data collection, analysis and maintenance of projects related data base;
  • Assure that the progress reporting is done in a timely and quality manner based on the requirements of the UNDP and project donors; 

Qualifications for the post:

  • Master’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years experience or a PhD with a minimum of 3 years experience in a related field;
  • Extensive experience in care of PLHA;
  • In-depth understanding of the HIV/AIDS situation in Ukraine;
  • Fluency in Ukrainian and working knowledge of English;
  • Strong computer skills;
  • Energetic and optimistic approach to all possible problems;
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
