ESTABLISHMENT OF JI SECRETARIAT
IN UKRAINE.

station: Kyiv, Ukraine
Duration: 2 months
UNDP
is implementing RBEC Bratislava
funded Project “Establishment of JI Secretariat in Ukraine”.
The
objective of the project is to establish the JI Secretariat in
Ukraine and to ensure that
the Secretariat will be able to perform its duties afterwards. The tasks of the
project include the following: development of an operational manual and
‘organigram’/mapping out of JI project development and approval process (roles,
responsibilities and processes) in Ukraine; conducting of workshops/seminars to
strengthen capacity building and providing training for JI Secretariat
stakeholders; creation and management of data base of potential JI projects; and
presentation of the JI Secretariat and data base of potential JI projects.
Also
the project will facilitate dialogue, information exchange and cooperation
amongst Ministries, Scientific Institutions of the Academy of Sciences, NGOs and the private sector and enhance
general awareness about the implementation of JI mechanism under Kyoto
protocol.
To
this end, UNDP seeks a qualified candidate to fill the post of IT Specialist on data base. The duties
will include:
- Design a framework of the data base of potential JI
projects in Ukraine;
- Maintain contact with the National Expert on JI
projects data base under “Establishment of JI Secretariat in Ukraine” project;
- Contribute to the presentation of the data base;
- Report to UNDP on a regular monthly basis;
- Perform other duties, when required.
Expected
outputs at the end of assignment will include.
• Framework
of the data base of potential JI projects
in Ukraine;
Framework
of the data base should be build up in MS Access and have the following
information/fields:
name of the project; investor; brief description; project life time;
project
sum, etc.
• Presentation of the data base of potential
Ë
projects;
Required
Qualifications and Experience
- More than five years of relevant operational
experience/practical expertise;
- Good contacts within the project development area;
- Experience in creation of the data base;
- Experience of organization and holding of workshops,
seminars, conferences;
- Experience of work for/with special governmental
bodies;
- Knowledge of Ukrainian, Russian, English;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Excellent PC and IT/communications skills;
- Ability to work under pressure.
