Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the UNDP Resident Representative and Innovation
Springboard Programme Management Committee, the incumbent will be expected
to:
- Arrange press, radio and TV coverage of Innovation Springboard Programme
and Sub-programme activities, prepare public information, media and PR
activities such as press conferences, information briefings for journalists
and the general public, and other commemorative events;
- Incorporate the media-relations element in Innovation Springboard
Programme;
- Maintain close contacts with local and international electronic and print
mass media in Ukraine, write and circulate press-releases;
- Maintain contact with governmental and non-governmental organizations
regarding their support to Innovation Springboard Programme activities;
- Monitor mass media coverage of Innovation Springboard Programme
activities;
- Maintain contacts with UN/UNDP Office, information units of other UNDP
projects and programmes;
- Maintain and coordinate an efficient information exchange between the
Innovation Springboard Programme and Sub-programmes;
- Prepare required reports to the UN/UNDP Office information unit;
- Perform other related duties as required.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Strong oral and written communication and analytical skills, multi-task
oriented, a proactive, energetic approach to problem solving;
- Project management skills with driving forces of quality and meeting
deadlines;
- Strong media skills, comfortable with the spokesperson role and capable of
building
and maintaining relationships with external partners;
- Practical writing and communications experience in the area of PR and
event marketing communications;
- A bachelor’s degree in communications; (Bachelor’s degree in International
Relations, focus on International Communication (PR, Media studies,
Sociopolitical Monitoring, Analysis and Propaganda, Theory of Negotiations and
Conflicts, Journalism);
- fluent Ukrainian, Russian and English;
- knowledge of and complete comfort with computer applications is essential
(including organization of public presentations on PowerPoint).
