Title of the position : Agribusiness Marketing Specialist

The Organization : The International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group, promotes sustainable private sector investment in developing countries as a way to reduce poverty and improve people’s lives. In addition to its investment work, IFC, through the Private Enterprise Partnership (PEP), executes a major donor-funded program of private sector technical assistance (TA) in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Central Asia and the Caucasus. The objectives of the program are to promote direct investment in the private sector, build local businesses and financial intermediaries, and help improve the business enabling environment.

Description of the position: The Agribusiness Marketing Specialist based in Kherson Oblast will implement an agricultural training program for a large multinational organization in the agribusiness sector. The goal of the project is to promote the development of the agribusiness supply chain in Ukraine. Candidate must be knowledgeable in providing trainings in agricultural production, processing, channels of distribution and marketing.

Duties: Primary duties of the Agribusiness Marketing Specialist include:

· Implement a marketing and agribusiness training program for targeted Kherson vegetable producers/farmers.

· Assist, consult and train farmers directly in farm business management and business planning;

· Investigate agribusiness marketing channels available for Kherson vegetable farmers and provide information on their demands and prices.

· Provide market price information to Kherson oblast administration’s marketing information center and to Kherson targeted vegetable producers.

Scope: Provide consultation, training and monitor agribusiness activity in the field. Work with farmers, processors in direct business consultation. Continuously gather and submit information on both the domestic and international agribusiness market for vegetables.

Qualifications: Educational background in business and/or agriculture. Must have working experience in agribusiness and work with prominent Ukrainian or international food industry companies. Must have an excellent command of the Ukrainian language. English skills are desirable.
