United Nations Development Program Office is seeking highly qualified professional to fill in position of National Consultant

TERMS OF REFERENCE

1. Project title: Strengthening educational capacity of the Kiev National Taras Shevchenko University

3. Position: National Consultant

4. Duty Station: Kiev, Ukraine

5. Full time

6. Functions and responsibilities:

Under overall supervision of the project management and under direct supervision of the project administrative assistant the incumbent is in charge of the following:

· Day to day administration, operation and maintenance of the project office network, servers, as well as computers, including hardware and software;

· Day to day administration, operation and maintenance of the project office network, servers, as well as computers, including hardware and software;

· Ensure and maintain full operational status of the Internet-services, network and computer equipment;

· Maintenance of the uninterrupted 24 hours Internet connection and electronic mail;

· Studying of the computer equipment requirements and working out of the recommendations on improvement of the IT-situation in the project;

· Consultation and technical assistance to the network users;

· Maintenance of the contacts with the UNDP CO IT Manager on IT related issues;

· Introduction and implementation of new information technologies in the project with full observance of the corporate policies on IT;

· Installation, set up, configuration and de-bugging of the LAN/WAN equipment and software to full operational capacity;

· Preparation and implementation of all necessary hardware/software configurations for full operation as a top-level LAN including workstations, file servers etc.;

· Train and support staff in all varieties of tasks that require the use of the computers (presentations, reports, graphics, electronic mail etc.)

· Maintenance of the computer and telephone systems, provide monthly reporting on the long-distance calls to the project administration;

· Periodic upgrade of all software resources;

· Provide IT-related assistance to the project clients;

· Provide technical support to the project staff;

· Prompt processing of all requests for technical assistance and hardware/software troubleshooting (computer help-desk);

· Recording and filing of all information related to the office hardware, software, its repairing, guarantees, etc.;

· Perform other functions/tasks when required.

7. Personal skills:

· Proactive and energetic

· Excellent professional/technical skills in the area of IT, System Administration and LAN management

· Cisco Certified Network Assistant (CCNA)

· Strong mentor capabilities (Certified CCAI Instructor)

· Experience as technical editor for Cisco Press books (from English to Russian)

· Relevant experience for 4 years

· Skill to work in a team

· Good communication skills.

· Fluent knowledge of English, good knowledge of Lithuanian

· Technical skills: Hardware: Cisco Routers from 1xxx up to 7xxx series, Cisco Catalyst switches from 1xxx up to 8xxx series, Cisco Multimedia gateways and services (MCU and MC series); Intel PC, HDSL; Software: FreeBSD. Apache httpd, MySQl, PHP; Skills: RIP, OSPF, IGRP, BGP, STP, DHCP, DNS, SMTP, FTP, FireWall.
