Project
information:
Since 1995, UNDP Ukraine has been preparing the National
Human Development Reports (NHDRs). The next four NHDRs will be done as a series
on the linkages between human development and governance reforms. The process of
producing NHDRs will primarily involve national institutions, such as Government
at the national and local levels, academia, civil society organzations and the
media.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
The national NHDR Team will be responsible for all
aspects of the project planning, leading and implementing the NHDR process,
coordination and delivery outputs. Key to this complex operation will be the
NHDR Project Manager, who will be responsible for the day to day management of
the project. The responsibilities of the NHDR project manager will
include:

Prepare regular correspondence
and documents related to the project;
·
Resolve all financial matters
related to the project, including contracts, payments and financial
revisions;
·
Maintain correspondence with
contractors, advisors, partners, service providers, advisory committees and
other members of the NHDR Team;
·
Communicate with external
actors;
·
Provide logistical support
(interviews, travel arrangements, payments) for NHDR Team
members;
·
Provide information, reports
and other documentation related to the NHDR process and provide support in the
editing of any documents related to he NHDR project;
·
Manage on an annual/cycle
basis the action plan for the NHDR process, ensuring the close monitoring of
progress;
·
Meet regularly with members of
the NHDR Team to monitor progress;
·
Design regular update
information on the project;
·
In collaboration with the
Information Unit, elaborate and monitor the implementation of a communication
campaign;
·
Manage the entire printing
process of the report, including identification, tender and
selection;
·
Organize meetings (such as the
Advisory Committee) and provide administrative support during the
meetings;
·
Establish and maintain filing
system for the project;
·
Respond to and act on
telephone inquiries and to coordinate appointments related to the NHDR
exercise;
·
Accompany the NHDR Team at
official meetings to translate and/or take notes as
appropriate;
·
Provide support in any
research and data collection efforts related to the NHDR and
CCA;
·
Help in the editing and
production of the respective Reports;
·
To perform any other duties as
requested by the UNDP Programme Manager, DRR or RR;
Expected
outputs:
·
Production of the
NHDRs;
·
Effective management of the
follow-up and dissemination efforts;
Requirements
for the candidate:
·
Senior person, with at least 5
years of proven experience in the field of Development;
·
Experience with UNDP NHDR
processes;
·
Analytical and statistical
skills;
·
Significant research
experience;
·
University background,
preferably in social and political science and/or
economics;
·
Familiarity with/working
experience developing and translating related documents (knowledge of
Ukraine and Eastern Europe);
·
Report writing
skills/experience;
·
Fluency in
English.
