United Nations Development Program Office is seeking highly qualified professional to fill in position of Programme Assistant /Interpreter

Terms of Reference

1. Project Title: Programme to Promote Sustainable Development in Ukraine

2. Post Title: Programme Assistant /Interpreter

3. Duration of employment: 1 year

4. Full time

5. Duty Station: Kyiv, Ukraine

6. Duties and responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Programme Manager, Programme Assistant /Interpreter will perform broad and common administrative support functions to ensure timely and efficient support to programme related activities.

Responsibilities:

Provide interpretation and written translation of materials as and when required;

Undertake joint procurement activities under combined Purchase Orders for stationery, computer hardware, photocopiers;

Provide substancial support to Project Manager in the organisation of meetings, seminars, communications etc;

Organize external communications including a) receiving, logging and redistributing mail, b) managing fax, telephone and e-mail communication, c) managing and updating mailing lists, d) organizing the mailing of all circular, invitation to meetings etc;

Contact conference/meeting facilities, organize hotel arrangements and program of activities for participants in meeting;

Keep a filing system of general administration and personnel matters;

Handle correspondence related to general administration and personnel matters;

Prepare travel authorizations ensuring relevant supporting documents;

Assist Project staff with additional operation duties, including compilation of reports, minutes of meeting, drafting letters and typing texta where there is an urgent need and the work plans permit;

Perform other duties as and when required.

Qualifications:

The Programme Assistant should be a university graduate. Background in Environmental Studies will be an asset;

Practical experience on general administration, organising seminars, round tables, secretarial duties, maintaining documentation;

Proven knowledge of English , Ukrainian and Russian is required;

Computer skills (Word, Excel, Internet);

Knowledge of the Environment for Europe process would be an asset;
