RIGHTS IN UKRAINE
Position: IT assistant
Duty Station: Kyiv
Part –time Functions and
responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of
the Finance/Administrative
Manager and
in liaison with UNDP’s IT support unit, the incumbent will be
responsible for:
General IT user support
- Continuous user assistance with IT issues
- Maintenance of computers, servers, printers and copy
machines
- Full compliance of IT systems and procedures with
UN/UNDP rules and regulations on IT operations
- Assistance to the office staff in preparation of
documents, presentations, spreadsheets, etc
- Regular updates of user hardware and software
- Timely inventory and stock of supplies and disposable
IT spare parts
- Monitoring of physical existence of the office hard
and software
- Maintenance of records of all information related to
the office hardware/software, their repairing, guarantees, etc.
- Maintenance and monitoring of servers
- Regular maintenance of UNIX based server services such
as file sharing, printer sharing, DHCP, DNS
- Management of user accounts and security access of
users
- Virus and intruders protection
- Regular backup and restore of server data
- Software installation and updates
- IT Support at workshops and trainings
- Preparation of required IT equipment at the location
of event
- Sound contributions to IT networks and communities of
practice
- Facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge
sharing
- Active participation in ICT networks
- Advisory to users and counterparts in other country
offices
- Management of IT knowledge base: development of learning and training
materials
Specific technical requirements:

Ability to maintain PC hardware (assembling,
troubleshooting);
·
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft
Office products;
·
Basic understanding of the internet: TCP/IP, ARP, Ethernet;
·
Knowledge of network protocols (DHCP, SMTP, POP, FTP, LDAP,
etc), FreeBSD OS, Postfix MTA, Apache/MySQL/PHP software (installation,
maintenance, troubleshooting) or CISCO network equipment is desirable but not
required.

Conversational English is a must, fluency in Ukrainian required.
