I. Position Information

Job code title: Web-Master

Pre-classified Grade: ICS-5

Supervisor: ICT Associate

II. Organizational Context

Under the supervision of ICT Associate and the guidance of the UN Communications Officer and UNDP Communication Officer, the Web-Master provides support for web-based services and information infrastructure.

The Web-Master works in close collaboration with UN/UNDP Communications Unit, Programme and Operations teams in CO and UNDP HQ staff for effective resolving complex web-related issues.

III. Functions / Key Results Expected

Summary of key functions:

  • Implementation of UN and UNDP public information disclosure standards
  • Web services support
  • Facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing
  • Supports implementation of UN information standards, focusing on achievement of the following results:
  • Compliance with corporate graphic standards and guidelines.
  • Introduce and implement new technologies
  • Provision of integrity and accessibility

2. Supports web-services, focusing on the achievement of the following results:

  • Develop, design and support public web-sites (UN and UNDP) and intranet web services
  • Maintain contacts and support outsourced web resources
  • Adapting and optimizing press materials, layouts
  • Provision of additional graphics
  • Promoting ICT strategies

3. Ensures facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing in the CO, focusing on achievement of the following results:

  • Participation and assistance in training for the CO staff on web-related issues.
  • Sound contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
IV. Impact of Results

The key results have an impact on the overall efficiency of the Country Office including improved web services and increased rating of web-based resources.

VI. Recruitment Qualifications

Education: Secondary education

Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience

Language Requirements: Fluency in the UN and national language of the duty station
