5. Duties and Responsibilities:
Within
the structure of the NHDR Team, the Administrative Manager plays a leading role
in managing research component of the project.
The
Administrative Manager will be responsible for the following:
1.
Drafting of TORs, conducting of tenders and interviews to identify NGOs,
academic institutions and individuals to conduct research for NHDR;
2.
Preparing a database of regional and local NGOs and academic institutions that
can be the Project’s research partners;
3.
Managing all financial matters related to research component of the project,
including contract, payments and financial revisions, under guidance of the
Project Manager;
4.
Managing correspondence with partners, research teams and other members of the
NHDR Team;
5.
Providing logistical support (interviews, travel arrangements, payments) for
policy research teams members/NGOs/academic institutions;
6. Managing the scheduling and execution of
the launch, work-in-progress and dissemination seminars that each researcher or
Policy Research Team will be expected to present or participate in during the
course of the research work.
7. Managing the preparation and introduction of the
course on Human Development to the universities of Ukraine;
8.
Establishing a network of university professors interested in teaching a course
on Human Development;
9.
Assisting in organizing outreach activities;
10.
Participating in and making presentations at seminars, public debates and other
presentations regarding the National Human Development Reports.
As
appropriate, the Administrative Manager will work with the support of the NHDR
Secretary and the NHDR Research Assistant in fulfilling these
tasks.
ExpectedOutcomes:
In
the course of carrying out these tasks, the Administrative
Manager:
1.
Oversee the performance of PRTs;
2.
Assure that the PRTs deliver the highest quality outputs;
3.
Develop a network of scholars and university professors interested in
researching the topics related to Human Development and willing to teach a
course on Human Development at their universities;
4.
Contribute substantively in the dissemination and outreach
activities;
5.
Perform other related duties as requested;
6. Experience and Qualifications:
·
Senior person, with at least 5 years of proven experience
in the field of Development;
·
Experience with UNDP NHDR Processes;
·
Analytical and statistical skills;
·
Significant research experience;
·
University background, preferably in social and political
science and/or economics;
·
Familiarity with/working experience of developing and
transition related developments (knowledge of
Ukraine and
Eastern Europe);
·
Report writing skills/experience;
·
Fluency in English as well as Ukrainian and
Russian;
